Holden Stewart is a vibrant and inspiring young boy from Brandon, Manitoba, who faces life with a rare genetic disorder known as Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T). Diagnosed in the fall of 2021, Holden's journey has been one of courage and resilience, touching all who know him.
Diagnosis
As Holden approached 2 years old, subtle signs began to suggest that something was amiss. After a series of (often painful) evaluations, the diagnosis of A-T was confirmed. This moment was both sobering and clarifying, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Holden and his family.
Living with A-T
Ataxia Telangiectasia affects various aspects of Holden’s health, including his mobility and speech. Despite these challenges, Holden approaches each day with an infectious optimism and an unyielding spirit. His ability to adapt and find joy in the face of adversity is nothing short of inspirational.
Holden continues to take part in many of the activities that you would expect of a 5 year old boy, playing pranks on his siblings, joking around, swimming and playing all kinds of games.
Family and Community
The support from Holden’s family—his parents Derrick and Jill, along with extended family and friends—has been pivotal. They advocate tirelessly not only for Holden but for all families navigating the complexities of A-T. The Brandon community has also rallied around Holden, embracing him with love and support.

The Hope 4 Holden organizing committee is pleased to launch the 2024 Hope 4 Holden 50/50 Raffle in support of the Ataxia-Telangiectasia Children’s Project. Tickets can be purchased online at www.hope4holden.com, through a 50/50 seller at the fundraising dinner at the Victoria Inn Brandon on June 20th, 2024, or at the fundraiser golf tournament at Glen Lea Golf Course on June 21st. At the conclusion of the Hope 4 Holden Golf Tournament on June 21, 2024, a winning ticket will be randomly drawn from all tickets sold. The pot will start with a seed of $5,000.00 and grow by 100% of ticket sales. One lucky winner will win 50% of the total pot.
Please note: Tickets can only be purchased by individuals 18 years or older and located within Manitoba’s provincial borders at the time of purchase.

1.50/50 tickets are sold through the Ascend Fundraising Solutions electronic raffle system.
2.To purchase an online ticket in the Raffle, you must supply certain personal information (such as name, home address details, date of birth, payment card details and e-mail address). Certain information may be shared with AscendFS Canada Ltd. (“Ascend”) in order to process your request to purchase a raffle ticket. 3.If the Ascend Fundraising Solutions electronic system fails after selling 50/50 tickets has begun and cannot be restored, sales for the draw will cease and the draw will be made as soon as the system is restored from the tickets sold prior to the system failure.
4.All ticket sales are final. There will be no refunds issued to any for any reason. All tickets purchased and entered into the draw cannot be refunded, including if ticket purchasers made an error in selecting the amount of tickets they desire to purchase.
5.All tickets purchased online will be delivered via email only. It is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to ensure that they receive their tickets, however, purchasers do not need their tickets in hand to be included in the draw. 6.All In-person purchasers will be provided with a printed ticket.
7.Ticket sales will open at 7:00 a.m. on June 5, 2024 and will close at the conclusion of the Hope 4 Holden Golf Tournament on June 21, 2024 with the final draw occurring shortly after on the deck at the Glen Lea Golf Course clubhouse.
8.Tickets will be sold in-person at the Hope 4 Holden Fundraiser Dinner on June 20th at the Victoria Inn Brandon and on June 21st, 2024 at the Hope 4 Holden Golf Tournament at Glen Lea Golf Course.
9.A single ticket number will be randomly selected by a Random Number Generator from all tickets sold for the draw. In the case of a discrepancy between the posted number and the actual number selected through Random Number Generation, the actual number selected through Random Number Generation will be considered the valid winning number.
10. The winner will be contacted at the information provided at the time of purchase.
11. The winning number will be posted on the Hope 4 Holden website by noon on the first day following the draw date.
12. Winners will be required to sign a prize release prior to receiving their prize.
13. By claiming the 50/50 prize, the winner gives the Hope 4 Holden Tournament and the Ataxia-Telangiectasia Children’s Project the right to publish the winner’s name and prize amount. Names are publicized to protect the integrity of the 50/50 raffle as it verifies that prizes are won.
14. Prizes must be claimed by noon on June 27, 2024.
15. Unclaimed prizes will revert to the Hope 4 Holden tournament and will be donated to ATCP to support its purposes.
16. All cash prizes will be paid by cheque within ten (10) business days of the winner claiming the prize and having the number confirmed by the Hope 4 Holden Tournament.
17. Participants must be 18 years of age or older to participate and purchase a 50/50 ticket. Ticket purchaser must be located within Manitoba’s provincial borders at the time of purchase.
18. Draw is open to all ticket holders 18 years of age or older.
